Just when you thought the popularity of reality TV shows had run its course, another one rears its head, promising to offer more than has gone before, including an extra dimension. Yes folks, they are taking us 3D!
From the company calling themselves, " Even More Real than Reality" a new show has been unveiled claiming that their show will depict unrivalled levels of reality and realness thanks to the 3D element.
The drawback for potential new viewers is the installation of an expensive new technology, required to pick up the show in its highest resolution. When pressed for information on the new installation requirements, Mr Reel revealed that a team of technicians would need to enter the viewers' house, disconnect and remove their current TV sets in order to implement the new technology effectively. Fear of chaos and disruption were allayed when informed that the whole process should take no longer than an afternoon, weather permitting.
Sources have informed us that some of the test screenings have not gone entirely to plan, with some viewers remarking that the picture quality was poor when the weather was overcast and wet and others (albeit customers who had opted for Third party installation) claimed they felt strange " drafts" when tuning in to the new show. Another complaint was that once tuned in, it was often hours before any "characters" appeared on screen while in some cases there seemed to be no participation at all.
When we sent a team around to some of the homes of lucky families who had received the new equipment early we were horrified to find that new equipment was in fact simply a window in the wall behind the position of the old TV set! In the cases of third party installation, many had yet to receive the actual glazing.
So in Mr Edwards' case, who was bemused by the new show and said, "it was like watching paint dry" he hadn't realised that his neighbour had actually painted the fence a few hours earlier and that he was actually watching paint dry.
I don't know about you but I could certainly tune in for a few hours of "celebrities watching paint dry", where the one whose paint dries the slowest gets evicted!
Seriously though, where does television go from here? The UK edition of Big Brother has announced that next years series will be its last, and not a minute to soon in many people's eyes, and many other reality TV shows suffering from falling ratings. One has to fear however what producers might come up with to replace these shows once they are dead?
Have we not had enough controversy, racism, sex and violence as well as utter tedium, being beamed into our homes 24/7 to last us a generation? Oh, it's just me then!

That has nothing to do with the way the article was written, I'm just a little slow sometimes. I totally agree with your views. The sooner reality TV goes the way of the dinosaur the better. Thanks Timothy! Glad you liked the article and glad it sounded convincing at first! Much appreciated. Julian
Hilarious! Had a great chuckle whilst drinking my coffee and enjoying my elevenses...in fact I almost sprayed my coffee on my keyboard when I laughed out loud!!!!!!! I knew it was going to be funny when you mentioned Mr R RU Reel and was waiting to see what your spin on it was going to be!Actually, given that there is so much drivel on TV these days, looking out of my window is much to be preferred sometimes. All that so called reality TV is garbage and a poor excuse for entertainment. Good riddance Big Brother!!!Glad you got a chuckle from this Jo, lets just hope MR R U Reel doesnt see your comment! Thanks for reading and laughing with me! Julian :)
