The final line up has yet to be revealed but there will be many famous pop and rock singers and celebrities performing on what will apparently be a cover version of REM's "Everybody Hurts". Why? All the stars will donate their time and talent, in an effort to raise money for the victims of the Haiti earthquake victims.

The whole thing came about when Prime Minister, Gordon Brown called none other than American Idol and X Factor creator, Simon Cowell, about the idea. Although daunted by the scale of the task and the speed in which it needs to be completed, Mr Cowell took on the challenge.

He is in the process of using his considerable powers of persuasion and industry knowledge, to not only make sure the song is recorded as quickly as possible but to have as many big names on it as possible.

The names which appear to have been confirmed so far include, Rod Stewart, Leona Lewis, Michael Buble and JLS. It is reported that Robbie Williams, Sir Paul McCartney and Take That have also been approached about the charity project.

All the proceeds will of course be immediately dispatched to help the ongoing suffering in Haiti in the aftermath of the disaster.

What can we do to help? Go and buy the CD Single when it comes out. It is likely it will be available at music retailers and other stores as well as being downloadable. The single is likely to be released within the next week.

The Prime Minister, Gordon Brown has promised that there will be no VAT charged for the Haiti song. Keep an eye on the national and local press as to when you can be a part of this huge effort for Haiti when the song comes out.
