As the travel chaos caused by the volcanic eruption in Iceland heads into a fifth day, met office officials are warning that the volcanic ash cloud could affect the East coast of Canada and United States later in the day.
More than 68,000 flights have been cancelled since the volcano erupted and hundreds of thousands of people are stranded across Europe and the world as more and more airspace gets closed down as the ash cloud drifts further. There doesn't seem to be any slowing of the eruption either so the disruption could continue for days or even weeks.
Eurostar are running as many extra trains as they can for people seeking alternative modes of travel between the UK and mainland Europe.
It's not just holidaymakers that are being left stranded as many world leaders were unable to travel to the funeral of Polish President Lech Kacyznski on Sunday because of all the flight restrictions.
The world of Sport is suffering also, where the UEFA Champions League Semi Finals have been hit. Barcelona soccer team are said to be travelling by road for their first leg match against Inter Milan, in Milan and Lyon will make the trip by coach to Munich for their clash with Bayern Munich. As for the Europa Cup Semi Finals involving Liverpool, Athletico Madrid, Fulham and Hamburg, a decision is yet to be made.
As nature vents its fury in Iceland, humanity can do nothing but watch and wait until the crisis unravels.
