Lib Dem leader, Nick Clegg's notes for last week's live TV debate were found in the back of a black cab.

The dossier was effectively Mr Clegg's briefing on how to approach the first of three live TV debates with Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Tories leader David Cameron in the run up to the general election on May 6 th .

A little embarrassing, certainly, but Clegg reacted with a little tongue in cheek humour, saying he was glad his team were rehearsing for being elected to office by leaving important documents in the back of taxis.

The documents apparently contained notes made after the Lib Dem leader's rehearsals for last Thursday's debate and contained tactics for how to handle the pressurised situation of a live debate. Talk more slowly and avoid repetition was just some of the advice given to improve Clegg's performance.

Regardless of the exact details in the dossier, it seemed to be very effective as Nick Clegg emerged from the debate with a huge surge in popularity and a clear winner of the debate.

The next debate is live on Sky News tomorrow (Thursday 23 rd April) evening. Notes and dossiers are sure to be more securely guarded this time around, which will likely disappoint taxi drivers everywhere looking for a real scoop.

Sounds like they need to buy a briefcase with a pair of handcuffs attached to it.
