Bret Michaels, front man of rock band Poison is reportedly still in a critical condition, after suffering a brain haemorrhage on Thursday evening, when he was rushed into hospital after complaining of headaches.

It is unclear whether this condition is in anyway related to an emergency appendectomy operation the singer underwent several weeks ago.

Michaels and his band burst onto the glam rock scene in the 80's with crowd pleasing rock n roll anthems such as, "Talk Dirty to Me" and "I Want Action" from their debut album "Look What the Cat Dragged in". However it was second album, "Open up and Say... Ahh!" that really sent Poison into the rock stratosphere with a string of hits including rock ballad classic, "Every Rose has its Thorn".

Third album "Flesh and Blood" followed and with it came more success and more hits with perhaps "Unskinny Bop" proving their most commercial hit from the album.

The band underwent personnel changes just as the rock music scene was changing in the early 90's with the influx of Seattle grunge bands and although 1993's "Native Tongue" album was perhaps their most accomplished musically, the sales didn't match the positive critical reviews. More internal wrangling occurred and the rock scene changed immeasurably and brought about the end of an era for Poison.

This writer happened to see them on their Native Tongue tour of the UK and they were great and here's wishing Bret Michaels a speedy and safe recovery to health!
