Ronnie James Dio Not Dead - Cancer Stricken Rocker’s Wife Tells Media, Dio is All but Alive

Later on Sunday, after this article was written, it was confirmed that Ronnie James Dio had indeed passed away. RIP.

Ronnie James Dio is apparently alive, although not at all well, according to his wife, Wendy Dio. Twitter and the internet had been awash with rumours that legendary rock and metal singer Ronny James Dio was dead.

His wife seemed to confirm however, that while the Dio, Black Sabbath and Rainbow front man was indeed very sick in hospital where he is being treated for stomach cancer, he was still alive. She said, "I am at the hospital and Ronnie has NOT passed away!!!! He is not doing good, but he is not dead. I will let you know if anything changes. Thank you for your concern."

Ronnie James Dio is 67 years old and has been battling cancer since last year and is of course too ill to perform any concerts, which has included the cancellation of the planned summer "Heaven and Hell" tour.

So, as it stands on Sunday morning, Ronnie James Dio, seems to still be with us, and we wish him well.
