Bleach is a Japanese manga anime series and fans are going crazy to find out if hero Ichigo Kurosaki dies in episode 271. This is apparently season 15 of the popular series and faithful fans are as eager as ever for the next episode!
Manga is hugely popular in Japan and indeed its popularity has infiltrated western markets in recent years, especially in the video game (such as Naruto "Rise of a Ninja" and "Broken Bond") and movie industries.
What exactly is manga? Well, according to Wikipedia it consists of, " comics and print cartoons (sometimes also called komikku) in the Japanese language and conforming to the style developed in Japan in the late 19th century. In their modern form, manga date from shortly after World War II but they have a long, complex pre-history in earlier Japanese art ."
Hopefully that sheds a little light on something that is simply massive in Japanese culture.
