Online music service, Spotify have announced new packages for music lovers who love to listen to and download music online. One of the new packages called Spotify Open allows users to listen to 20 hours of music for free! The only drawback being that there will be advertising between the songs. I don't know about you, but this sounds remarkably like a little thing called "radio" to me and they have been doing that for years!

Spotify was launched in 2008 and is believed to have around 5 million users already. As with most applications of this nature, music can be browsed and searched for in a number of different ways, such as artist or album.

The availability of music online is never far from controversy, with musicians and record labels generally being very unreceptive to the medium for the genuine fear of loss of revenue and rights. However, it appears that these music websites and services are here to stay.

The Spotify music service has now been launched in the USA. As of July 2011, Americans will be able to find out what European music fans have been raving about! (Updated 15.07.11)
