Update:  So, the Kate Middleton wedding dress appears to have been a massive hit with the public and the fashion gurus alike.  As predicted the night before, the dress was designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen and was full of intricate detail, especially on the areas of lace.

The royal wedding itself appeared to go like clockwork, a predictably serious affair once inside Westminster Abbey but a little more relaxed once it was all done and the married couple headed to Buckingham Palace in their carriage, smiling and waving to the hundreds of thousands of people who had lined the streets!

Then, there was the much anticipated kiss on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, a tradition started by Prince Charles and Princess Diana 30 years earlier. The crowd cheered and the celebrations went on into the afternoon and evening.
