Cheryl Cole sacked from US X factor TV Show. Rumours suggest that her strong Geordie accent and an apparent lack of chemistry with fellow judges Paula Abdul and L.A Reid were to blame.
Although being widely reported, these details have yet to be officially confirmed by anyone associated with the X Factor show.
It appears to have been a torrid time for everyone involved with the X Factor franchise. The UK version of the show must surely be in trouble after the defection of both Cowell and Cheryl Cole as they took their places on the US show. When Dannii Minogue also quit, the UK X Factor was facing up to life without 3 of its most recognised judges and without Simon Cowell much of its credibility as the most viewed live show in the UK.
Meanwhile, if Nicole Scherzinger is confirmed as the new judge, one wonders if this would have been a much more sensible decision from the beginning. The Pussycat Dolls leading lady, who is also successful as a solo artist, is far more recognisable to the US audience than Cheryl Cole was ever likely to be!
No doubt with Simon Cowell at the helm, the US show will go on to prosper while the future of the UK show is likely to be held accountable by the fans unless they can really pull of an amazing coup when it comes to the line up of judges.
Update 26.05.11: As the shock new of Cheryl Cole's sacking reververberates around the world of showbiz, it appears that fellow ex X factor judge, Dannii Minogue has spoken out in support of Cheryl on her Twitter feed, saying, "Judging roles should come with a life jacket, drop down oxygen and a life raft"
Dramatic reports are gathering pace, that Cheryl Cole who was sensationally sacked from the US X Factor TV series after just four audition shows as been offered the chance to return to the show in the same role just two weeks later.
A chance to return to the UK version of the show was seemingly rebuffed, so what will Cheryl do with this latest offer if reports are accurate. Perhaps a return to Girls Aloud or concentrating on her solo music might be the way to go here?
