Justin Bieber girlfriend, Selena Gomez has reportedly received death threats from alleged fans of Bieber, often referred to as “Beliebers” on social networks such as Twitter and Facebook.
In recent days, the newly public couple have been photographed in a series of romantic clinches, especially during a trip to Hawaii were paparazzi have snapped the couple kissing and frolicking in the ocean waves.
Bieber has apparently been named as the third most powerful entertainer in the world, largely thanks to more than 10 million followers on Twitter and a legion of Facebook fans. He won the “artist of the year” award at the American Music Awards in 2010 and at the age of 17 already has 2 platinum albums to his name. His popularity is nothing short of phenomenal and he is one of the most tweeted about celebrities as the world goes Bieber fever crazy!
Selena Gomez, 18, is also enjoying a hugely successful career in her youth and is perhaps most loved for her role as Alex Russo in Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place. Like Bieber, Gomez also has a musical side and her band “Selena Gomez & the Scene” have 2 gold albums and more than a million record sales. However, with only 5 million twitter followers, she is some way behind her boyfriend!
Quite how this young romance and now very public relationship will stand up to the pressures of not only global fame but the power of the social network scene remains to be seen.
