Batman: Arkham City players will also be able to control Catwoman as she has been unveiled as a playable character in the much anticipated videogame return to the world of Batman, coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 in October 2011.

The announcement comes just ahead of the annual E3 event, a videogame entertainment show that often reveals all the new games for consoles and PC that are heading our way during the upcoming holiday season and beyond.

Arkham City is set to be a much larger game than its hugely successful predecessor which was set within the confines of Arkham Asylum. This time, players will have a whole city to explore adding much more verticality to the game as well as providing a naturally larger gaming world.

Despite the addition of the catwoman playable character it looks highly unlikely that developers of the game, Rocksteady, will have any secret multiplayer or co-op modes to announce. So, it looks as though, through story progression, players will have segments where they have control of Batman and others of catwoman.

With Ann Hathaway set to play the feline femme fatale in the next Christopher Nolan Batman Movie, “The Dark Knight Rises” it looks set to be a bumper couple of years for catwoman fans!

The game is already looking amazing and more features at set to be unveiled at the E3 Expo which kicks off June 6th2011.

Other upcoming games, as well as a whole host of Kinect titles, that are expected to be at the show include:

Dark Souls

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (along with its Call of Duty Elite package)

Battlefield 3

Unchartered 3: Drake’s Deception

Tomb Raider (a much needed reboot of the franchise)

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Mass Effect 3

FIFA 12

Forza Motorsport 4

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Bioshock Infinite

Are they any games not in the above list that you are particularly looking forward to?
