A plot to murder pop singer Joss Stone has reportedly been thwarted by police who have arrested two men who are currently being held “on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and rob”. A senior police source has allegedly confirmed that a body bag was found with the men along with swords and forensic-style overalls.

Who would want to kill Joss Stone? It’s certainly one of the more bizarre news stories dominating the headlines after the men were taken into custody after a suspicious vehicle was spotted near the singer’s home in Cullompton, Devon.

At this stage there seems to be very little other information forthcoming. However, just last month Joss Stone appeared on the Sunday Times “Rich List” in which she was said to be the 5thmost wealthy British and Irish pop star under the age of 30! (Could they make these categories any narrower?)

With an estimated fortune of around £9 million, Joss Stone, 24, has 4 studio albums under her belt with a 5thscheduled for a release in July 2011. “LP1” as the fifth album is currently called, follows “Colour Me Free”, “Introducing Joss Stone”, “Mind, Body & Soul” and “The Soul Sessions”. The singer has won numerous awards since first breaking through at the age of 17.

Joss Stone has also been a Bond Girl, albeit in digital form in the videogame James Bond 007: Bloodstone, in which she provided the voice and likeness to character Nicole Hunter.
